Care for your scarf will keep you both looking your best.

While most wool is dry cleaned, the cashmere used for the Green Goat Project has been processed with water, heat and friction creating a more resilient fabric that can be washed and dried, with care. But it isn’t indestructible. Avoid washing in hot water, as it is possible for some of the material to further shrink or colors to run in places.

  • Washing: If you choose to wash your scarf, use cold water and a gentle detergent designed to be used on delicates — ideally a wool shampoo

    • By Hand:

      • Add your scarf to a clean tub or sink filled with lukewarm tap water and your detergent. Follow the soak time instructions on your detergent’s container.

      • Rinse in cool water.

      • Roll in a large towel to remove excess water.

      • Air dry

    • By Machine:

      • Place the scarf in a mesh bag to prevent stretching or friction with other items. This will also protect the construction.

      • Wash on cold on the delicate or wool setting

      • Tumble dry in a dryer on low to medium heat to restore the fluffiness.

  • Ironing: If needed, you can press your scarf with an iron on the wool setting with steam.

  • Dry Cleaning: you can also dry clean your scarf if desired.
